From a series shot during a 10 day artist residency in Summer 2018 while immersed/embedded in the culture of Bare Oaks family naturist resort, a year-round, full service nudist recreation park and campground located outside of Toronto, Canada. I chose to approach the tight-knit, self-selected community of residents and guests as a social landscape photographer, seeking out concrete visual representations of the ethos of modern naturism without directly photographing the diverse parade of naked bodies. My goal was to document how the residents shaped and altered the landscape to reflect their beliefs within this private utopia.
