GVBQ (b. Ogallala, Nebraska) is a Los Angeles-based artist focused predominantly on documentary photography as a tool with which to study and interpret human behavior. GVBQ received a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and an MFA in Photography from Pratt Institute. GVBQ's critical art writing and 2013 Manhattan-wide bodega documentation project (as Gail V Quagliata) have appeared in numerous regional and national publications. After over 15 years visually combing the streets of NYC, GVBQ moved to LA in 2018 and is enthusiastically investigating the landscape of the American West.
